Hi all,
it has been a long time since I did any modelling at all and so I would like to ask for your help in picking out the colors I need for a particular project. I bought the 1/700 Tonan Maru No. 2 kit from Frogfoot. I am however going to paint it in the colors of the Norwegian whale factory ships of 1930 that her plans were based on. For those of you who are sticklers for historical accuracy this will no doubt be a silly project full of errors, but it's the closest I'll come to a model of one of these factory ships without having to scratch build (which I do not have neither the skill nor the time for). At any sort of normal viewing distance it'll be close enough for my needs. The attached file has three color photographs showing the "Sir James Clark Ross" (1930) (the photo is from the 1950s so it has modifications which were not part of the original design) which was from that early 30s generation of factory ships, and the one of very few to make it through WWII (her siblings "Vestfold" and "Svend Foyn" were both sunk) along with "Vikingen" (later "Wikinger" (Germany) and post WWII "Slava" (USSR)). So (preferably in Tamiya colors which are easily available to me) which colors should I go shopping for?

Any youtube videos you can recommend showing a step by step preparation and painting for ships?
