To echo Martin's comment, the forums on this site work best when all modelers, regardless of skill, feel safe to comment and feel welcome.

Insults will not be tolerated.

The forums on this site work best when constructive, frank, authoritative information is solicited, delivered and accepted. Without the PC fluff.

The premise is this: there are sub-standard models, and there are well crafted models. Accept that and you're ready to advance. Deny that, and continue with the PC mandates, and these posts become nothing more than feel-good pap dumps.

Everyone gets a 'gee-I-feel-good-about-myself' trophy -- and no one learns a damned thing.

Me Teacher. You Student. Shut up, sit down, and take notes. There will be a test!

David

I get the distinct impression that you believe you are a very talented modeller who produces models at a standard everyone else should aspire to?

Investigate his work for yourself and then you won't have to ask - you'll know. Who knows - you might even find yourself "aspiring"!

Hi Bob,

I have an opinion of his work already. It's not about what I think though.

I find, as most seem to, that the best modellers are their own harshest critics. Very few of the builders behind the competition winners I know are the sorts to blow their own trumpets. They're usually cooerced in to entering and surprised that they won.

I'm interested in where David says himself in the league of modellers. Based upon what I can see, he's above average but I've definately seen much better, and from far more people who are pleasant to interact with too.

Looks like Merriman has his own little lapdog/lacky/suck-up/etc. I don't think I'll ever aspire to being an obnoxious, arrogant troll. Looking forward to more insults! :wave_1:

I was with you until the end. It's "Without the insults". I'm all for "constructive, frank, authoritative" feedback. That's how you learn. I also like a little snark. But we've moved beyond that - and more than one person is guilty. Asking everyone to behave in a civil manner is not "PC". It's called being an adult.

As Steve said, just stop.

Please check the attitude in at the login screen. There is no need to insult anyone.
