Hey everyone,

Looking to build Black Cat Models beautiful LCS(L) kit as one of the boats that were present at Radar Picket 1 with the USS Laffey DD-724 off of Okinawa when they were pummeled by Kamikazes. Navsource provides a couple of images that give a clue to a scheme they were in, but these small support ships are not my specialty and picking out patterns has eluded me. They don’t seem to have been painted in the 2 tone overall light grey with blue panel like the kit art portrays. It appears to be one of the dazzle patterns. Anyone have any leads on pattern and colors? I’m assuming some of the amphibious greens?

Matt

Let me know what you dig up. I'm interested in doing the same thing.

This was posted on Facebook the other day, by a page called "Toby's Models" (hat tip to Devin Poore for sending me the link):
