HMM,Now where do I start ? The truth is it,s nice to have a vessel from another part of the world that works in this unique and necessary line of duty . The MARWEDE fits together with REVELL/GERMANY,S usual type of surprises .The hull is three piece and if you are very careful you wont have to clean up anything .That,s right , very little if any mold parting lines or sink marks . Now the sinkmarks are in areas you don,t really want to ignore . Around the top of the forward edge of the main deckhouse and on the little boat carried on the stern at the back of it,s deckhouse ! that,s a tricky area to sand ! There are also sink marks above the running lights on the upper cabin forward area .NOTE: when you paint this puppy there is a problem .There is so much detail molded on the deck pieces that you need to air brush it .The closest color I could find to the boxtop picture is TESTORS-MODEL-MASTER , ZINC CHROMATE GREEN -FLAT ! Then you have to carefully clean up all those molded on details or the green will bleed through all the other colors ,especially the white .I overpainted EVERY part needing it , in flat white as an undercoat .Make sure it,s as thin as a wash ! Now , when you spray the topcoat you will do well to use SEMI-GLOSS white ,again almost a wash . This really does the trick ! I chose to remove the molded on steps on the fordeck at the aft edge . I replaced them with 1/200 p.e. steps . No windows are molded open or clear , use a little light blue with a drop of silver in it . You will also do a good turn by thinning down the molded on rails on all the parts .They are molded fairly thin , but this will complete the look of a finely crafted model . The DECALS are top notch and none gave me ANY trouble over a spot of wash thin gloss , then covered with semigloss clear . All in all , a satisfying build of a unique subject .Now if they had ONLY checked the deck width on the SMIT boats and gotten the space right that would make a heck of a fine trio ! commodore4
