Hot off the presses (literally) and just delivered from Shapeways are the Model Monkey 1/350 1941 USS Lexington (CV-2)
Island and
Funnel. I'll be using them to replace the original resin parts on my Blue Water Navy Lexington.
These parts - especially the funnel - are BIG. The printing quality on my parts is very good, details are crisp. There are some lines from printing, but I think I may invest in an air eraser to take care of those.
Overall, these are very impressive looking. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the parts, but Model Monkey used US Navy plans and lots of photos to try and get the details right. They sure LOOK like the Lex's island and funnel. The funnel even has the small funnel cap on the forward most exhaust/vent.
If I can ever figure out Lex's degaussing cable layout with near certainty, this will certainly jump ahead on my work queue.
Part are via Shapeways, courtesy of my (overworked) Visa.
Highly Recommended for fans of the fabled Lady Lex.
