I wish that I had saved more of my Uchū Senkan Yamato Gaming Models (I think they were 1/1000).

Admiral Okita certainly does love a fight, and the rules for that series turned out to be very much like the Uchū Senkan Yamato: 2199 Series (and follow-ons).

Riich Models announced a new set of Ohio-Class SSBN. According to scalemates it's supposed to be 1/700, but I haven't found any other source confirming the scale - it would be weird for them to release a 1/700 Ohio after 1/350 Los Angeles...

Either way, this seems like a very welcome addition.

I am going to guess that those are Conventional Warheads on those Missiles.

I cannot imagine many situations (a handful at best) where only two nuclear-armed missiles would be fired from an Ohio. Most such launches from the Cold War were an “All or Nothing” thing (the boat either came to launch depth and everything left, after which the sub went as deep as possible, or the boat went as deep and quiet as possible, waiting a given amount of time before sending up an antennae to get an idea of what it would do then). I would guess if the Boat had multiple targets that were not in range that one such launch might be just two.

They did release a 1/700 Borei, so a 1/700 Ohio would make for a nice pairing.

(For the sake of reference, I note that Riich posted the Ohio image on their Facebook page with no accompanying caption/comment)

Wow. A La Marsellaise in injected plastic is a very pleasant surprise, even if it is in 1/350. Still where 1/350 leads 1/700 usually follows. Must be patient

Good to see them thinking in French!

Hope it's occurred to them that Dunkerque and Strasbourg in 1/700 are long past due..... :frown_2:

While we're at it, I'd take a 1/700 Bearn too

Mostly interested in the 1/350 F-35 if released alone.

Kinda tangential, but I saw this exact ship in a satellite image a month or so ago (it was part of a project to locate and identify all Chinese Warships, or ships that are Armed and could be used in a war).

It was cruising around off the coast near the shipyard in Shanghai that built their most recent carrier.

Most of their ships tend to be packed into a motley collection of junk and Junks, and are not in terrific repair.

We noticed that they tend to have exactly three squadrons of Frigates, One Squadron of DDs, and about twice that of small patrol craft out at sea, along with two or three of their Missile Subs (they haven’t many of those). But a LOT of their coastal, diesel and Nixon-nuclear subs seem to never be in port (probably because of idiots like me spending whole days scrolling along their coasts and rivers looking for them).

For you fans of the modern era, looks like a newer company, Magic Factory is working on a Injected Molded USS Gerald Ford CVN-78.
