What-If Italian battleships after the Littorio-class

Post by France76 »

Hello,
As you know, in the late30s, the Italian navy made some studies about battleship with 16 inch guns, probably 9, and very similar to Littorio.
Anyway, Admiral Cavagnari decided against this development, and the war prevented any new constructions.
The UP 41 was a project from Ansaldo for the Soviet navy, and is not connected directly with the super Littorio battleship design.
I would like to know if someone has a design, from above and profile, in order to build this ship.
Till now, i did not find any scheme, plan, or sketch of the super Littorio.
It would be interesting to fill this gap in the history of Italian battleships. Thanks .

Yes, it's the project Up 41, for Soviet Navy, probably Italian Navy, as many say, planned to use it, with 12 152 guns in triple turrets, and with 90/50 mm as aa battery, 37 and 20 mm guns.
Many thanks for this drawing.
