USS ASTORIA 1/700

Post by Richard Durham »

Here are 3 pictures of my recently completed 1/700 Trumpeter USS ASTORIA. I replaced lots of parts and used GMM photoetch as well as Clipper barrels. I used 20 den Black Uni-Caenis for the rigging--best rigging material that I have used to date. This is my first all blue ship and I used a bit of shading. Rich

Nice work, Richard (as usual). My only suggestion would be to paint the bridge windows to make them stand out...

very nice! clean with a nice paint job!
A couple of questions: what did you use for your deck blue 20-b? Mine always comes out very dark.
How was the fit of this kit? I have it and wanted to start it before too long.
a constantly shifting fleet of half-starts and near finishes.
