I remember that there was some discussion about an odd camouflage paint job on some german battleship or cruiser, where buildings where painted on on side of the ship, to blend better with the houses in the dock area. Anyone that have some information on this?

Ciao all,

battleship Tirpitz, German Kriegsmarine, 1939 into Kriegsmarine Werft Wilhelmshaven bauhafen.

On the port side houses, on the starboard side nothing, as she was anchored aside the pier.

Thanks!

Are there any good references of this? The model is lovely, but some good photos would be great.

If you have enough free time, try this.
"Camouflage of Bases and Shore Facilities"

Excellent source, just without pictures :pout:
