I have not been having much luck with google on this. Did any of the E class destroyers get painted in western approaches camo? In particular did HMS Electra ever receive this pattern? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Googling for photos of this A-I subclass is not going to bear much fruit, I'm afraid. Several E-class units were painted into WA schemes at one point or another, and perhaps the best photos you can find rather easily are those of HMCS Gatineau (ex-HMS Express), at one or more of the Canadian archives sites.

Certain unmentioned derivative sources and websites are rife with poor images and inaccurate information, with good results being very limited. Most of us hope for major improvement in this situation, when Norman Friedman's highly-anticipated British Destroyers book finally sees the light of day---sometime, hopefully, before year's end.

After the London refit she was refered to HMS Sissy with her new pale green and blue camouflage, this was in the Electra book, a good read if modeling her.

Here is a link to my photo bucket shot of Electra in camouflage:

There is a 14-second film clip of HMS Electra - in WA camouflage scheme - contained in one of Roland R Smith's Naval Video Time Capsules, subsequently released on DVD. It's in the volume which covers the KGV class battleships, in a segment about POW in Singapore; at 36'50" for those who have the DVD. Alas my PC doesn't have a DVD-ROM drive so I cannot provide a screen capture.
