Here is my 1944 Myoko with the Flyhawk set. Initial work includes degaussing cables and funnel work:

Forward superstructure work.

I closed up the aft area with a funnel shaped piece of styrene to close that big ugly rectangular hole. The wood is to help square the superstructure.

Hull work.

The model comes with indentations/locators for all superstructure and other parts. I hate thos because they leave a seem that must be filled, so I sheeted them in with 0.01 styrene. I know it raises everythin a little bit, but it only scales out to 3.5 inches!

Drilled out the hawspipe since there is no anchor entrance in the kit, just an indentation for a flat anchor:

Aft superstructure work. The aft superstructure received this platform for the twin 25 mm AA mounts in 1944:

Yup what they said. You say 1944 Myoko. Are you using the 1942 kit for a starting point?

Yes I am. I was able to identify the differences using Lacroix and Welles IJN Cruiser book. Although the kit is 1942 it does include parts for 1944. The Flyhawk set is also for 1944 so many of the kit parts will not be used.

I figured that. I also want to build the Myoko. But was wondering if the kit came with the Bridge for a 44 setting. I don't really like the early war war bridge. I will be watching your build.

They give you both bridges, but only give directons for the early one. I am cleaning off the molded on bridge wind deflectors now and plan to add the photo etch this week. I'll post pictures hopefully by next weekend at the latest.

I did not like the plastic baffles they give you for the funnels so I modified them:

Looking great so far Joe. Are you going to use the kits AA guns? Was wondering if you could post a pic or two down the road of the stock guns if you are going to upgrade? This class is the only one i do not have in this scale yet.
