Hi Richard , Question the electic motors what type ? At one time I would fit only Pittman 9.2v , excellent motors , low drain with plenty of torque but the availability declined and the supply just vanished . There seems to be a rising trend at present for using brushless motors , they are good but expensive .

Hi Dave
The motors that Bob has laid out on page two of this build are Astro Marine Super Ferrite 40 geared marine # 6340G

Hello Richard,

Wow, you are quite a busy man. The hull is fantastic.

Cheers.

Folks,
Please use extreme care when having any dealings with Richard O'Malley.
I commissioned a hull from him in NOV 2011 and while he claims to have completed it, demanded the second half of the commission fee,(and received it), he is refusing to ship the hull.
I have saved every communication between Mr. O'Malley and myself and could blanket the board with them, anyone wishing copies please contact me.
In the meantime, I have filed criminal complaints against this indiviual and am pursuing further actions.
BUYER BEWARE.

Jonathan Eno

I am sorry to hear of your complications and missgivings about Richard, J. He can be a quite busy man and Im sure its just a bad misunderstanding between the 2 of you, and I hope that it can be sorted out. Richard is an artisan of model ship building and I have seen how much effort and time he dedicates to that end, let alone research, mathematical scaling and other things that can hold up projects.

I myself have a main project that is at a standstill for reasons that I won't go into here. Several side projects, and I have people who want me to stop and make them stuff, so I have to learn when and where to say no otherwise nothing gets done and I would have a garage full of 1000 things that are partial complete and no one is happy. Richard is probably just overtaxed and I'm sure he would be happy to finish/fix your project, unless there are extinuating circumstances. That being said, I hope I haven't put a Rope around your neck Richard due to the fact that I'm not privy to the full story here. I have been folowing Your projects with great interest just as I do Paul Salomone's and a few others, and as I have seen you guys follow mine.

I do wish the RC world would get away from 1/96-1/100 scale as I personally hate those scales, however this is like arguing if steaks or pork chops are better. I'm lazy so You know that I like the 1/72 because I don't want to scratch build the airplanes (which I could). anyways keep on keeping on and love Your work. Smooth sailing as always. Haratio.
