Thanks, Timmy - was going to look there next, as they do seem quicker in their photo posts than HLJ, but got distracted (go figure!) here at work.

Very cute kit!

It's about time. I've been wanting one for years. I was beginning to think I'd have to make one out of Trumpeter's Kiev class.

As TimmyC still wrote in CSF area about ...

Tamiya announced reworked old Yamato and Musashi kit in 1/350 as news for 2013:

http://www.tamiya.com/japan/products/78 ... /index.htm
http://www.tamiya.com/japan/products/78 ... /index.htm

This behavior of them is more as strange ... because they make a complete new Yamato kit which is (as far as I know) quite good and then they announce as news for 2013 an improved / re-worked version of their old Yamato kit? What is the clue behind that? Some silly rumors in matter that mold of new Yamato has problems or why?
I mean, it is like Apple announce as new for 2013 an improved version of Smartphone 1 with some things taken over from Smartphone 5 ... lol!
Further, re-worked Musashi is maybe understandable, but at least not really. Why don't they make a new Musashi on base of their new Yamato?

Sorry, my 2 Cent about this ....

Lets end this once and for all. The new reworked IJN Yamato and IJN Musashi is a cheap alternative to the more expensive new tooled IJN Yamato.
The molds for the new IJN Yamato is fine and already an early war version of IJN Yamato is on the works. Plus an IJN Musashi.

An early war new tool Yamato and Musashi at some point? Awesome news, thank you so very much Atma. I also keep hoping to hear news about more 1/350 JMSDF ships like Fujimi's DDH-181 kit (awesome model btw).

1/350 releases

Post by tcl74 »

Atma,
what do you think about probability of releasing 1/350 Kaga? (Hasegawa maybe?)

Well well, let's finish this thing once and for all. My favourite Japanese battleship the all gun IJN Ise and IJN Hyuga is still far away from a proper release from Fujimi.
The reasons:
1)IJN Ise and IJN Hyuga is more popular in the Japanese market in the Hybrid version, and less popular in any version outside of the Japanese market. And this is reflected by the low sales of 1/700 and the 1/350 version of the IJN Ise outside of the Japanes market.
2)IJN Fuso and IJN Yamashiro turned to be high sellers in 1/700 and 1/350 and there reasosn is that they are very popular in Japasene and foreign markets.
3)We will definitely see one more version of Admiral's Hiraga "what if" series - IJN Tosa(?) -, and that means no IJN Hyuga in all guns version in the first months of 2013, cause it turned out that IJN Amagi/IJN Akagi(the battlecruiser) was the best selling 1/700 model in Japanese market for the 2012, BUT not a 1/350 version, the size of IJN Amagi class is huge and the cost of a model in 1/350 will be prohibiting to repeat the success of the 1/700 version.
4)Im 100% that by the end of the 2013 we will see a IJN Hyuga in all gun version. Im trying hard for this, after all there was a test model in Fujimi offices(the hull and the main guns, no bridge or any other structure) in August 2012. The reason for the delay is that an all gun IJN Ise and IJN Hyuga is a tottaly different model from a late war version, is not just extra 2 36 cm turrets. Hull, pagoda, main guns had different roofs, deck and I repeat, the main HULL.

And lets not start talking about cancelled Fujimi projects.

Got no info about Hasegawa.

On the other hand Fujimi is releasing this April a third and final version of the aircraft carrier IJN Ryuho, a 1944 version. And a new Shiratsuyu class Imperial Destroyers, IJN Mursame/IJN Yudachi, again out this April.

But those are all in 1/700, aren't they?

The Trumpeter 1/350 Warspite 1942 has been released. The list on this page needs to be updated. BTW does the White Ensign Photo Etch for the 1/350 QE work for this kit or perhaps will a dedicated Warspite set be produced?
Thanks

Edit. Just found the Etch at the WE site :)

I just got the 38 version and it's nice, now a 35 version. Wonder how many more of her we might get?
