And I did!

The day before yesterday I started with the hangar door. The PE part is thin so I took the kitpart and sliced it in two halves:

Sanded it, it will get PE::

Imagebm41 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

Roof of hangar, all has to go and will be replaced by PE::

Imagebm42 by Ronald-45, on Flickr
And gone, I will make a new roof from 0,25 mm (1/10 inch) styreen:

Imagebm43 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

As I sit in the living room, my hobby room is in re-organization:

What one can do in one evening:

And on the ship:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday evening I went on building. Made the roof oversized:

Imagebm47 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

After drying I cut it to fit and glued the new hangar door on:

Imagebm48 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

Glued on the upper little doors, here I found out that the PE is somewhat fragile. Also drilled the door for a see-in look:

Imagebm49 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

Drilled and cut out:

Imagebm50 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

And made to fit (sanded):

Imagebm51 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

The door folded and glued:

Imagebm52 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

And in place. The little walkdoor is glued in already:

On the ship at the end of the evening:

Oke!

Did a little modelling today. Build the stands for the boats on the hangar roof:

But saw it was wrong, had to be turned so I placed it on the other side:

And the two together:

Later more!

Tonight I went on. The PE has to be used in a seperate room with rest, room and much light. So I went on with the guns and barrels:

Imagebm55 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

The original parts are cut and sanded:

Imagebm56 by Ronald-45, on Flickr
A 1 mm hole is drilled and barrels gued on with thick CA glue:

Without housing:

And with:

Hello folks,

This topic was heavely damaged and unreadable by the crude actions of Photobucket. For a year now I'm a satisfied and paid customer of Flick on which I uploaded new photos and repaired this topic.

It is up-to-date now and from here I could go on with the build... which I will do in the near future, first my 1/700 must be finished. So... stay tuned!! :cool_2:

Hi all!

4 years later... and it still didn't make progress :heh: But; I promised myself to at least build the 4 main guns this coming months.
This was december 2019:

Image20191216_113958 by Ronald-45, on Flickr

They are still in the same space. Every day I walk by them and every day I say to myself; build them. But then there are other things to do and I forget these ones.

In some searching I found these blast bags from Bunker Studio: https://www.hlj.com/1-350-scale-dkm-bis ... bstws35104

Imagebsdbstws35104_0 by Ronald Halma, on Flickr

Because the LR set doesn't have bags and the Revell kit either I ordered them from HLJ Japan. They are on their way and these will arrive in a few weeks. Yes, for Trumpeter but with some work they will fit.
One other thing I "fight" with is to aquire both Eduard sets next to the LR. I did some research and the sets do complete each other in many ways. Also the railings of the Eduard set is way better and sturdier than the LR ones. And many Eduard is customfit for the Revell kit. So I ordered the railing and gun set from Eduard https://www.eduard.com/eduard/photo-etc ... 1-350.html:

Image

Its on theway and should arrive in 2 weeks.

I made myself a map as research with a the manuals etc.:

Image20240110_113159 by Ronald Halma, on Flickr

This way I have all by hand and in one spot. I also ordered the Kagero book i Poland through Ebay(i'm in Europe so shippingcost is very reasonable):

Image20240117_153654 by Ronald Halma, on Flickr

Very nice with a lot usefull info! So stay tuned

More to come!
