Working with styrene like this much resembles the actual construction of the ship. At this scale a few open doors, such as on the pilot house would be great. Some of the embossed/ribbed wt doors could be done by vacuforming thin stock.

Cheers. Tom

That little ship is going to be quite a looker when all is said and done; I've no doubt you're planning on populating her decks with sailors and officers, right?

Is she going to be static or motorized? I'm guessing the former...

Absolutely stunning. I hope to one day tackle a project such as this with the level of detail and craftsmanship as you. :worship_1:

Nice work! My big boat dream is a 1/72 Gearing class in her FRAM1 config. I am following your built as an inspiration. Looking forward to see it completed.

Ludwig,

When you started this project back in 2010 I was really impressed with the way you created the vacuformed hull, and I was curious how it would turn out. Now I would say it is turning out excellent!

I like the old fashioned pencil sharpener on the work bench. Haven't seen one of those in some time! Indeed your unusual hull fabrication has worked well. In this scale cutting and assembling the ship is not so different than the way the shipyards worked.

Cheers. Tom
