But I wanted to ask: How many bags/packages of wood did you need, what's the stock # for the size you used and where on the ship did you start planking?

I know my Montana is alot bigger than Bismarck, but it'll still give me an idea of how much I'd need.

Believe it or not, this is the most difficult question I have had to field so far. I had a couple of packets leftover from my first build from Northeastern which were 12" long and I think 25 pieces in each. I also bought another 50 pieces 24" long from Kappler, but I did not use that full pack.

When I get home tonight I'll try & do a better tally of what I used, but I think 1 packet of 50 pieces of 24" long 1X3's should be good.

I ordered more because I have the Yamato & King George V to re-deck, so I will use them there.

Ed I have one question for you. how do you trim the wood that overhangs? Just use the good ole #11 or is there another tool you use?

Thanks,
Rich

ED K,I just have to agree with the others,it is the most impressive and good looking model I ever seen. After looking at that it is only to quit modelbuilding. Where did you by that wooden stick? Just great. :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:
