Well, it is time to finally wrap up the Myoko thread. First I would like to thank everyone who encouraged me on this long journey. Specifically I would like to thank Sirpaul for making me put in the radar room in the foremast, Martin for all your continued encouragement, Dan K. for sharing immense knowledge freely and continually! Last I would like to thank Jeff Herne for telling me to build this ship and for the library of reference material! The total build hours was 926. Now on to IJN Yahagi! Here are the last group of photos. Don't hesitate to ask any questions on the build.

I didn't think it was possible to top your Kongo. I was wrong. You move the bar for what is "top craft," Joe.

Well deserving of the award. I was one of the judges in the cruisers category and studied it for a good half-hour straight and did not see a single flaw. Well deserving of the Best Ship trophy.

Setting aside the detail work, it is as clean a build as I have ever seen. A jewel.

Joe if you could, I would like a run down of the parts used? I have mine just sitting at about 80% done. And would love to get close to what you have done.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind words!

Sirpaul:
Flyhawk set for Myoko. Very extensive and includes all brass barrels.
All AA guns are Veteran Models replacements. The twins and triple mounts are a mix of Flyhawk parts that came with the Myoko set and Veterans. The singles are all Veterans.
The paravanes , deck winches, searchlights and all binoculars are Veterans.
Junk the kit planes and replace them with Hasegawa's seaplanes. They are the best IMHO.
Brass deckstrips are Flyhawk.
Emergency rudder is Flyhawk.
Catapults are Lion Roar.

That's all I can think of right now.

I am in awe of you work, Sir!

As i am currently about 80% thru fitting the brass strips in an Aoshima Nagara, I can truly appreciate just how talented you must be to have achieved such a neat finish. I can assure you, Mine are nowhere NEAR as straight or evenly spaced as yours.....

Must get some Veterans bits when they come available again. I have the own-brand railings & extra P.E sets but they all muss the smokestack rails & many other fittings.... Have to do the: Austerity modeling here!

Looking forward to following your next build.

Congrats on finishing a big job, which was clearly worth it because the result is a beautifully detailed model, and congrats on taking it in public on a contest and winning that award!

Cheers,

Marijn
