Thanks so much gentlemen!
Detailing the bridge, forward deckhouse and Mk-37 Director.
Vent covers have been fabricated and installed on three of the fore and
aft deckhouse vents. There are two covers on the forward deckhouse,
one on each side, and one on the aft deckhouse, starboard side only.
The remaining deckhouse vents on DD-802 had no covers. The
covers are more complex than the vent itself. Each cover consists of 10
parts. Each vent is made of just five parts.

Gentlemen, thanks so much!
Here is the original Lindberg kit's Mk-37 Director next to the scratch-built
replacement sitting on top of the new pilot house.

Detailing the aft deckhouse continues. Door openings have been roughly
cut out, some bulkhead details are in place, and the outriggers and
stanchions are installed (some straightening yet to be done).

Thanks again for all your kind words!
Deckhouse detailing continues.
Most Fletchers had one draped fire hose and one
rolled fire hose on the face of the forward deckhouse but photos of
DD-802 indicate she had two draped firehoses there. Still need to
straighten those stanchions!

Timmy, not sure if I'll glaze them. In combat, they might be left open to
help facilitate good communication between bridge crew outside and
inside the pilot house. But glazed would sure look good. Hmmmm.
Mark, actually finish a model?? Now where's the fun in that?

- Pilot house interior controls, helm, indicators, chart table and remote unit have been fabricated and installed. These were made from various strip, rod and tube styrene. The binacle and captain's chair will be fabricated and installed next as well as a bulkhead which separates the bridge from other compartments within the pilot house.
