Hi Aop, thank you for your kind words and taking the time to look through my build. Yes Bruce is correct in saying that it's not my first model, I have finished two ships in the time that I've been working on Garibaldi. One of those is on here HMAS Canberra here is a link
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=156347
My other complete ship is HMAS Sydney a Hobart class destroyer both 1/72 and some unfinished ships too lol never enough time. Scott :thumbs_up_1:

Hi guys, been busy working on the Nav bridge this week. With the nav bridge walkway pattern made I set out to make the small frame work that supports the stainless steel mesh.
Image
much easier to make on the bench then on the model.

Image
finished the bracing and ready for the stainless steel mesh.
Image
Test fit of the mesh, I used the cardboard pattern from the frame to cut the mesh.
Image
after I was done with the mesh it was time for the radar and aerail platforms to be made and fitted.

A friend of mine in Task force 72 asked me for some pics of Garibaldi with the hull and Superstructure together, I have taken some but I don't really have the room in my shed so I haven't got the whole ship in the photos yet but I will soon. Scott

Thank you Norbert for your kind words :woo_hoo: I have missed some posts for Garibaldi! We had the National Regatta in November 2016 for Task Force 72 in South Australia so I wanted to take Garibaldi for a run at the Regatta even though shes not finished it was still great to sail her with the other guys even if she was the smallest carrier there :heh: She ran like a dream the whole time never missing a beat which was really great, since then I'v done some of the handrailing around her superstructure and I'm working on her Port side cat walks! slow progress but still moving forward on this project! Great job. Always found it a good looking ship (as with most Italian ships). Some very sharp building there. Hope to see some color on it soon! :heh:

Hi guys, its been a long time since I've been here and worked on Garibaldi. It took a Facebook post from a friend to give me a kick in the right direction, it was a memory from 6 years ago when they were at the Task Force 72 Regatta and it got me thinking that in 6 years I have not finished one project! I have so many unfinished ships in various stages of construction!!! This hit me hard and made me have a look at myself and look at managing my time better. So I decided to tackle one project at a time and once that project is done move onto the next. Well that is how I want it to be. Garibaldi was at the top of my unfinished list and was placed on the build table. After chatting to some of the lads down here I've had great support and a few doubt that I can only work on one project at time. Going through the cardboard finding her bits and pieces has brought back a lot of memories. Firstly I finished off her starboard rear walkway and under hang supports a long her starboard side (I had these laser cut years ago by Defence models and graphics) with working on Garibaldi I've had a mate offer his 3D printing skills and he has done some exceptional work on her large and small deck cranes, the two motor launches located on Garibaldi's Port and Starboard, her countless drum winches and capstans, SPS 52, large fenders mounted on the superstructure and small dinghies on her rear deck. I've spent 5 weeks marking, drilling and gluing Garibaldi's flight deck tie downs (massive job) working on her superstructure at the moment. Scott
