Revell Gato Sub
Here a a few photos of my completed 1:72 scale Revell submarine. Sorry it has taken me so long to post these photos from the time I started this build. As this was my 1st model build, I was not aware of PE parts until after I was two thirds of way through build. I did add CMK's crew members on the sail of sub. I used a Super Slinky guitar string (E) for my railing instead of thread provided . I also decided to try my hand at weathering to create the look like she had been at sea. I loved this scale for being my first model build and the detail Revell did is really amazing. I worked on this on and off for about 1 year.

Many thanks for the thumbs up! lol I had a lot of fun building this model and it gave me the chance to learn about these ships and the men who served aboard them. I finally got a chance to visit the USS Drum Gato submarine in Mobile, Al. and even had the opportunity to speak with Tom Bowser, (dedicated volunteer) and learned he too was stationed aboard the USS Crevalle for a short time.
