Below is my build of the Murasame class destroyer Harusame from the Aoshima 1/700 kit.

I chose to build it out of the box and it was a straightforward model. I used Tamiya XF-20 medium grey for the main colour while the horizontal surfaces like the main deck were painted in XF-54 Dark Sea Grey. This was per advice I saw on another older thread.

For comparison purposes, the 2nd picture shows the Harusame alongside a Chinese Type 52C destroyer and the Chinese carrier Liaoning I built before.

This looks really nice. Even out of the box the model has the busy quality that I like about ship models and the little added touches like the antennas really help with that.
