I hear you, mate! I am working on a few off-the-books projects as well. I will be opening up another thread myself on a few littoral subjects. Keep up the great battleship work, mate! Your posts provide and show some real artwork and talent. I will be catching up with your building progress as soon on my own modern BB projectBrett M wrote:boomstick68 wrote:Looking excellent. Brett,
Just wanted to say thanks for posting your work. I'm about to start this kit myself with the Pontos Model detail set and your build log will be an enormous help. Your model looks sharp and is inspiration for me to get cracking.

Brett,
Fantastic work there, I have this same kit in the stash and I am getting another one for my son and I to do a "Father/Son" build together.
We'll be using your thread as we build ours, thanks for posting!!!!

I took a quick break to build another starship and ended up with another U.S.S. Enterprise from the original series. I'll be getting back to the New Jersey soon, as I just need to strap in and finish her.
Quick shot of the Enterprise (and the NX-01 refit at left and Reliant at right). Don't mind the dust, spring and 4 animals running wild in the house!

Re: Tamiya 1/350 Modern U.S.S. New Jersey with extras
Actual updates!
I think I've gotten everything attached to the starboard side that I can, that isn't part of the upper level superstructure. Boats are on, crane in place, etc. Now to pivot and do the port side, then upwards I go.
Let me know what you think!

Looking really clean! Looks like I'm still the winner for the slowest progressing build!

I did attach the stern railing the other evening, need to clean up the join to the hull and paint it. Then it's really onto attaching the same railings and stairways I did on the starboard stide to the port side!
Thanks sir!GewoonWouter wrote:Now that is a nice and tidy build. Looking good there mate!
Thanks! Hopefully more shots to come, in a much quicker timeline!Scott56 wrote:Looking awesome as usual. Very clean build. Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks Dave! I've been busy attaching the port side railings.....I just haven't done much photography since it's really just a mirror of what I've already done.navydavesof wrote:Keep up the great work! Your progress is very inspirational and impressive. I really look forward to more subassemblies!
Hoping to have the main deck and all railings, etc. attached by this weekend and then upwards I go!

Not really a paint problem......just myself and sanding sticks. I've been removing any gaps between the railings and the hull by filling them with Mr Surfacer or CA, so I have to smooth them back out once they've dried.LE BOSCO wrote:hi Brett

It'll be fine once I airbrush it again....no worries! Just have to stick with it and FINISH.
