very nice work on the Midway, shes not one you see that often.

Sorry to be a bit of a spoil-sport but I believe we have a rule about
maximum photo size being 800 by 600 for posting here. Im sure the mods in this secton would appreciate a re-size.

Thanks for the comments guys, sorry Vlad, i was a little tired when i posted them, i would re-size if i knew how, gtb that is a great idea about working on the 1/720 before starting your USS Bush, is she going to be the same island configuration as the USS Reagan, i am waiting with bated breath as to the final appearance of the USS Carl Vinson, it looks very interesting indeed. well i am off to get some of the Ranger done.

Well back home in the UK, been working on USS Ranger and USS Coral Sea, work on Ranger has come to a temporary halt, as i left some of the island parts in the US, so its either buy another for the parts or wait until i go back. meanwhile work will continue on the Coral Sea, this is a serious conversion. after these it could be USS America on the Slipway, Ranger will be as she was in Desert Storm and Coral Sea and America as they were together during Libyan strike ops.

I will be using Starfighter CV-61 decals

Hope to post more soon.

Well i ordered another Forrestal class today so that i can finish my Ranger, and i ordered another Midway. Meanwhile USS Coral Sea is coming along well, all Sponsons that were on the hull have been cut away and sanded down, and the Flightdeck has been sanded, and a little work on the Island.

Great work once more John. Now if Murphy s law is applied then we should see a Coral Sea model as soon as you finish scratchbuilding yours. But of course according to the same law first we should see a Midway.

Thanks Nektarios, well Murphys law sucks, why couldn't i put a sheet of plastic on the bench and say this will be a JFK, and a news flash says JFK is being released. it would be so much easier :) anyways Coral Sea's island is coming on well and work is progressing on the three sponsons. so Happy Modelling.

I have added your pics to my favorites now, 1/144 sounds a great scale, Mark at Starfighter decals is working on 1/144 scale and has a good selection.

Yes they have something about them that is appealing and easy on the eye, i have a feeling that i will end up with angled deck Essex class in my fleet, a visit to the doctor may be required.

I need to get a copy of that CVW-2 Sheet he has in 1/144. It would make my life much easier.

kidcurrie,

What kit are you using for the Coral Sea? I'm very interested in her 1980s fit. Your build looks good. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Mac, it is the 1/800 ARII kit, seems to be actually somewhere between 1/700 and 1/800, if you need any assistance i would be glad to help out if i can.
