I tackled the walkway around the chimney by installing supports worthy of a quantum microscope...
Most impressive. Are the MK.1 eyeballs still online?

I needed the Mk.VII, and should go to Mk.X for my future Yamato by PontosDan K wrote:I tackled the walkway around the chimney by installing supports worthy of a quantum microscope...

Re: IJN Mogami Light Cruiser 1/700 Tamiya + add-ons
Yesterday, I removed the masking, and some of the bridge bars didn't like the operation...
Being moderately happy with the overall result, as they weren't always very straight and quite (completely?) out of scale, I decided to remove them and apply another coat of brown "linoleum" paint.
Fortunately, removing them and repainting takes much, much less time!
Weekend work, starting to glue the superstructures following my concerns about demasking...

We're going to start painting the anti-aircraft artillery pieces.
127mm :

25mm :

Paravanes :

Basic kit Vs 3D... like PE in its day, it's going to be difficult to go back...
It's a (big) extra expense for now, but we can hope for a price drop in the future...
After painting :

We're attacking the railings of the AA platforms around the chimney...
Not great, I'm still struggling with the curves...
Maybe I should have installed the railings before gluing the platform...

small weekend jobs, such as gluing the 3D paravanes... clearly not comparable to the versions moulded onto the deck...

And we start with part of the rigging with the halyards stretched out.

I had put it aside for a while due to an excessive workload, but now we're back on track and tackling the (very slight) patina on the hull.

As a great man once said:
"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it may be the end of the beginning."
But now we are beginning to see the beginning of the end.
The rigging is done, the second seaplane is on its catapult... all that's missing is a coat of matt varnish.
