Right, that's it for this part... I need some medicine.

Yesterday, I removed the masking, and some of the bridge bars didn't like the operation...

Being moderately happy with the overall result, as they weren't always very straight and quite (completely?) out of scale, I decided to remove them and apply another coat of brown "linoleum" paint.

Fortunately, removing them and repainting takes much, much less time!

Weekend work, starting to glue the superstructures following my concerns about demasking...









The breeches are painted in Vallejo light brown 71.027 :

We're going to start painting the anti-aircraft artillery pieces.

Basic kit Vs 3D... like PE in its day, it's going to be difficult to go back...
It's a (big) extra expense for now, but we can hope for a price drop in the future...

After painting :

We're attacking the railings of the AA platforms around the chimney...

Not great, I'm still struggling with the curves...

Maybe I should have installed the railings before gluing the platform...

We're starting to install this:

She's coming along nicely.

I had put it aside for a while due to an excessive workload, but now we're back on track and tackling the (very slight) patina on the hull.

And presto, one catapult done

This morning, installing railings:







Installation of 127 mm side turrets:







And 155mm turrets:

We attack small (very small) aircraft with a Kawanishi E7K1 "alf".

The Kawanishi with its second pair of wings



And on the famous coin with a diameter of 1 metre

continuation and conclusion of Alf with a few minor additions on the wings...

We take the guns from a turret in the spare parts box...







And hop, in place!

As a great man once said:
"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it may be the end of the beginning."

But now we are beginning to see the beginning of the end.

The rigging is done, the second seaplane is on its catapult... all that's missing is a coat of matt varnish.
