So, the next update!

WSW's small tramp,which will be sitting at the short side of the peer corner is mainly done. It still misses the crew, more deck cargo, like a car, and "integration items" like a walkway to the peer, mooring ropes, etc. I also did not place the starboard boat, and davit pulleys, as it will be coming alongside, with pulleys hanging down to the water level.. I just decided to leave them off so far, so I dont loose them!

WSW kit is now OOP, but contacting the manufacturer helped - he had a few copies of it left. Molding quality is good, no deformations, only a few bubbles along the waterline and easy to fix. I removed the molded on anchors, and added plating (first time for me) with Tamiya masking tape soaked with CA glue. I added PE from GMM's IJN Cruiser/Destroyer and Auxiliary sets, Lion Roar Anchors, rails, as well as leftovers from Loose Cannon Harriman set.

I had no exact prototype for the ship, but decided to paint it in Kelvin Line Co (sub-company of H.Hogarth and Sons line) which hold many small tramps at the time, and had an interesting livery with buff superstructure, and white bridge.

If the diorama looks only half as good as the ships, its gonna be great.

I agree very nice work. Are you going to model the building in the harbor too?

I do plan it. But, not the port authority building, as that one is around 100-150 meters out of my base plate, on the other side of the Basin du Commerce, but rather a smaller agency building, situated on the corner, I did not trust myself in building such a complex building.

However, most of my modelling is now suspended, due to a move in a new appartment, upcoming wedding, and honeymoon trip, at least until mid-september.

Any updates? After all, it has been about 5 months since the last one. After seeing you write about some bits and pieces, I can't wait to see how far you've gone. I'm in a slump about my What-if Truk Diorama, and well, I need inspiration.

And as a side note, if you haven' already made it, good luck with that building!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This diorama was finished last Thursday, and won a letter of commendation at Oberschleissheim yesterday. It got some minor damage on the way home, I will repair it and post a report

Hello bloke, an up-date would be great, while I have used MDF, plywood and even pine for bases for dioramas, have you tried 'glass ?' At the moment I have 3 more nights to get through, then 6 days off when I intend to build my display cabinet, then perhaps I can also make a start on my little diorama, as I've said MDF is okay, but I've noticed it will begin to bend after a short amount of time, something to watch out for, also with glass, you can buy patterned which can also look like small waves.

Can't wait! Really, this diorama, in a sort of tropical scene, will no doubt be something to see.

I have laid the tiniest plastic profiles I had as rails. Not sure about size, these were from RaiRo plastic profile assortment.

Those palm trees really helped. Also, all of the vehicles, outstanding, and the ships, Indescribable!!!!!!

However, the next project is called "Dissertation" by me, so not much modeling could be expected until october or so...

The first exhibition in Oberschlei�heim I have missed ... and then you showed this diorama!
