I have some touch up painting to do and then I'll spray it all with a gloss clear coat which will darken the decks a little. Then I'll add the warning circle, helo, and VERTREP deck decals, added a black wash to highlight the details and fill the bridge windows, and then weather the decals the same way and then add a flat clear coat.
Carl, If you haven t attached the Mk-22 you could trim it down a little more.

I was, just now, sanding the bottom of the Mk-22. I think its too, high but, I think I'll leave the diameter of the base the way it is.

Here's my problem with the Mk-22. I failed to notice the difference in height between the deck forward and the deck aft of the launcher. There's a step-up from fore to aft.
Its too, late to fix it so, no matter how thin I sand the base of my Mk-22, it still won't be exact. This will be "my" renidtion of the USS Brooke; right or wrong.
The 1/350 is not started yet, because I have been busy with a wwII groupbuild and some royal navy mtbs.... I will post pics as soon as it gets started...

it's been a while due to personal stuff, renovating etc. Just now have I been able to do some catching up. Looks like everybody has been busy and has produced some really nice builds.
Was it back in January when I said that work on my LHD is nearing completion? Believe it or not, the project is not yet dead and has just been revitalized in the past few days. Work on the airwing is also not yet complete. I also decided to deploy some V-22s since Bataan is the first LHD to carry a complete Osprey wing. At least the ship itself is slowly coming together. Some random pictures:
The hangar and well deck are completed. Work on the hull is also almost done. The island is also nearing completion. Then it's time for the decals and the rigging. I should perhaps also not forget about the airwing.

How are you dealing with the unrest in Athens, lately?
I bit the bullet and re-did my the missile launcher foundation and deck for my USS Brooke FFG-1. I was worried that I'd ruin the areas around the deck that I had to chisel off. This looks much better anatomically but, a little messier after the remodel. I'll try to clean it up. The launcher isn't permanently attached, yet.
Carl, I'd say it looks pretty clean, especially if you consider that it's shot in macro mode. I've been following your progress with all your ships and I'm definitely getting a lot of inspiration. How close are you to reaching the half-time marker with your One of Every Class project?
Today I have been working on completing the island. Finally, the windows came into play. I had the idea to depict windows that actually look like windows. Apart from all the remodelling of the actual frames, I decided to use clear plastic sheet and paint the backside to give the impression of a transparent/clean/ reflecting surface as it is normal for windows. Here's the result along with the before shot and the real thing:

I'm in as much suspense as you are with my One of Each Class collection. I'm still into the DE/FF/DD categories with a BB and a Belknap and a Ticonderoga finished. I have a Niko Canberra on the shelf and the new DRAGON USS Virginia CGN-38. I may need to wait for a USS Dealey DD kit to have one of that class. At some point I may have to convert the LCP USS Mitscher kit into the USS Norfolk and the Corsair Armada USS Garcia kit into the USS Glover.
After the CGs will come the Gators and then Auxiliaries; leaving the CVs for last.
I think that at one time I counted about 80 models in all. I'm only at about 12.
