Yeah, I feel that we're all friends on here & some like family too.

I'm back at my dad's place since he's in the hospital. Pneumonia & 2 mini strokes early this morning. Just found out he may come home tomorrow
Good to hear your Dad is doing well Ed. :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Hi ya Bob,
Thank you for you kind words, it is good to be out of sick bay, I am wanting to get out to the slipway and get some work done, but the C-n-C has pulled my liberty pass and confined me to the barracks. She has assumed the role of nurse and I have only been out for three days, so must do as she orders, if I want my liberty card back.
I hope I well enouph to get out there this weekend, just not rushing it though, if the graph or donor sites get infected then its back to the hospital for me. Don't want that.
So I'm spending my time getting some research done, and laying out build drawings for items needing scratch building. Oh, by the way my son Chris, bought me a 350 scale ALABAMA to build, so that is now going into the stack of builds to do. Last one I did took me 6 yo 8 months to build, lots of modifications and scratch to do on her.
I have also decided to start another series of modern carriers to be built as "in port", to do dorama of something like Norfolk, then another as Mothballed, which will be most challenging and interesting I think. So a bunch of Idea's I need to bring to life and well a BUNCH of kits to buy and start stock piling for these project, so if you got any you dont want anymore keep me in mind, HaHa. :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

These three ships have been in hibernation for a couple of years. Dusting them off, and hoping to finish them up sometime soon.
I'll fit them out with GMM Super Carrier PE sets, and Fujimi aircraft.
All Italeri 1/720
USS George Washington CVN73 (Just started)
USS Carl Vinson CVN70 (Under Construction)
USS Saratoga CV60 (Almost finished)

Also to come, USS Independence CV62 (not started yet.)

For something a bit different... Here's a Fujimi Lexington CV2, pretty much from the box. Some detail work to be done. I'd like to beef up the aircraft.

Here are a couple of the pics I took from across the bay of the USS Carl Vinson(CVN-70). I also have more pics of the portside of Vinson from stem to stern. Further, same type of pics of the USS Ronald Reagan(CVN-76).

Jim,

I'm glad to see that you are home and on the mend. It took me about a week after getting home from the hospital before I feld good enough to get to my workbench so take it easy and before you know it you will be back at it.

Cheers,

Denis

Thanks Denis,
I am chomping at the bit to get out there, but like everyone knows, health comes first.
At least I got some evergreen sheets in the house and starting a templete for a Essex class 27C and a 27A flight deck in 700 scale, just something to feel like I'm make something, although I'm no where near building one, too many other projects on the to do list and the C-n-C said no more tell I get these finished.

WOWSERS

May need to rename this place to The SickBay, well at least it sounds as if everyone is on the mend, I wish a speedy recovery to you all.

Well I have had a few probs of my own which kept me away, First off was my trip to ER at 4.30am one morning, my throat had just about swollen closed, finds out what I thought was a Bronchial prob, was an allergy to my blood pressure meds.

I left the Royal Navy in 2007, I was treated for the last few years of my Naval service for swollen ankles, I had already been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the knees, anyways, Navy doc looked and just concluded my ankles swelling was due to my sitting posture, gave me water pills(never worked) so 2012 my left ankle and calf/shin looks similar to Hippy eds picture, its just one big seepy sore, finally I find a free clinic, luckily the Dr is a vein specialist and has his own practice, takes one look and instantly tells me what it is and that he will treat me at his clinic, I have been twice for Doppler and Tomorrow I am being operated on, I have faulty valves in some veins, these do not close as the blood goes up, so most blood is remaining in ankle/calf/shin area, these veins will be closed or removed tomorrow.

Then hopefully back to something like normality
