Hi all:
I have started on the island for this beasty. Have spent two nights doing the glass for the windows, and painting and assembling each level. Also painting the walkways. Tedious stuff in 700th and smaller but you guys already know that. Not like doing the cockpit of a jet. Not in Kansas anymore Dorothy!
Pics to follow on progress......

Anyone have any leads on photos and data regarding the French carrier Foch? For the life of me, I can't find any good detailed pictures on the 'net. All help is greatly appreciated.

Avery, I hadn't much thought of it, but I was thinking of keeping as much to the era that the kit was intended as. I had also thought of substituting 1/350 aircraft for the kit-provided ones. Any opinions would be welcome. Also, if you attached a link to your post, it isn't there. Thanks for your help.

Hi All:
Here is some progress on my Reagan:
Have been working at a feverish pace trying to get all in place. Please send comments. I know about not having Photo Etch, money is kinda short at the moment. And I also need that tool too.

Nice job Stephen.
I really like the way you painted the windows. They look real.
Keep up the good work.

Alright, I know this has been asked before but is the Nimitz hull the best for building a JFK? I have an extra Italeri Nimitz and feel the need to build a supercarrier

Avery, I think there was earlier reference by kidcurrie in this thread to JFK, but I can't remember where.

Speaking of Essex-class carriers, I have finally finished my build of the USS Wasp CV-18 for my former co-worker. Here are some pics, and please feel free as always to comment. Also, please bear in mind that I'm sure the radars and such are not correct for a late 60s Wasp, but I worked with what I have, ok? Thanks. On to the pics...

Finally, the starboard side:
I used Gold Medal Models' PE for the 1/542 Essex/Forrestal/Midway carriers, and decals from Starfighter Decals. Both Mark and Loren are great to do business with, and Mark is a patient guy who doesn't mind explaining stuff to novices like me. Enjoy the pics.

Actually, I haven't been down to see him yet. I was hoping to get a plexglas cover before I head down with it. And thanks so much for the compliments.

Hey all:
Been working on those tiny aircraft for my USS Reagan. Things are starting to take shape. I have placed aircraft in different sopts to see what she would look like. Here is what I hav so far:
I think she is coming along nicely. I have to get those better decals though. Luckily I have another ship on the slipway that can work on till the decals get here. Happy building everyone! Ships are awesome!
