I wonder if we might see a Forrestal Class come out. I don't get why we do not have a Midway though. That one seems like a no brainer but look how long before we got a CV-6 Enterprise so go figure..........
Roosevelt is looking good!

Look forward to seeing your progress Mardis
All I can think of is that a Midway in modernized form is a one off, so Midway and Coral Sea would be two completely different molds....
Now the Forrestal's would make sense, actually would have made sense to release these earlier All four could have been produced
with small tweaks covering varying eras..... Early with the gun sponsons(Ranger up until decommission with fwd ones) Differing funnels
on all four.... yes there are other differences but nothing that cannot be easily achieved..... Aftermarket and 3D printing would cover many...
Yes I am dreaming.... Do not wake.............

Hey John, I did the Mighty O papercard/plastic 1/350 yrs ago. See what happen after that. A Forrestal with guns will be my hope. Also a 1/350 as built F.D.R wouldn't be bad either. Happy Modeling!

Hey Red, how's she progressing? Have you decided on a timeframe &air wing yet? Just curious. Had recently learned I had a cousin flyin' off her decks, got a purple heart in AUG 1942. Think he flew SBDs...

Spent some time working on the area between Hangar Bay Doors 1 and 2 and the fwd Fire doors, also made the 4 platforms for the Bay door winches, next area to get attention will be the area between bay doors 2 and 3. Just waiting for the Aft Hangar fire doors to arrive from Shapeways along with the CVCC Crash Crane.

Nicely done John. Your build be could one of best with the Shapeway parts. Connie and Big will not have a full detail hangar bay. J.F.K is a possibility. But's that way down the road. Ed Wasp is a handful. I thought my ISW Okinawa was the toughest resin build. Got that beat by a mile. I guess because of so little photos of her during time in the Pacific. Anyway look at Kosta build of her using the 1/700 resin Corsair Armada kit. Very detail kit to be s o small. Later Guys!

Yeah, my Essex class days are over. 5 scratch builds is enough. 11 Tonkin Gulf builds is a lot. Still need another CG and a LST to go with the LPH and FF. J.F.K and BigE will be build together. I will be watching as you move along. Mardis
