Someone asked earlier on how you were able to create such fine demarcation lines between the vertical Haze Gray and horizontal Deck Gray paint colors. You said that you were brush painting these areas. That still does not explain, to me, how you were able to do it. Are you using masking tape or special, high grade brushes and/or just a steady hand?
In other words they look great

but I had to ask about your procedure for my own future endeavors.
How can we find out more about your USS Reliant build? Not so off topic in my opinion--it
is a warship and is a United States Ship...

Sorry for the long delay, I've been busy busy and not checking the forums.
So far, a steady hand, slightly thinned paint and fine tip brushes for the areas where the decks and walls are molded as one piece. It does help for a lot of it where the decks are separate pieces so that I'm spraying Haze grey on the vertical pieces and just setting them down on the deck!
As for the Reliant, I didn't do any build thread on that one. If you want details, just hit me up with your questions, I'd be glad to help

Random up date from out of the blue! Just a little work done from today. I I finished railings on the lowest deck in the images. Added the baskets for the life rafts. And, fixed all the PE that popped off when I tipped the super structure over on my work desk. Thankfully, nothing shot off into the carpet!
As for the life rafts, I seem to recall seeing these a blue color? Can anyone confirm?
Thanks, comments are welcome!

Beautiful work. I used the Eduard set on my Missouri 1945 and from experience it's a bear to use. That was not a good choice for my first attempt at PE. Anyway I learned a lot and could probably do better this time around. I am currently working on the Trumpeter Iowa.
Congratulations on a very clean build and looking forward to following this thread.

A bit more progress from over the weekend. I didn't have as much time as I'd like to work on the ship, but progress is progress!
Main mast progression. I'm not looking forward to assembling the radar and associated PE bending/shaping.
I still need to remove the raised lines on the upper director....things to do. Also, moved/added the antenna mounts by the upper bridge windows after finding I had it wrong.
Comments are more than welcome!

Hey all
Question for any of you that have used the Eduard PE set I've been using. I was browsing their site and ran across this image, which shows a ladder. I swear when I was assembling this area, no ladder was called out in the instructions. Does anyone know what part number these are on the frets?
Any help is appreciated.

Not sure if this will help. I dug out my old instructions from when I built the Missouri . The Eduard kit number was 53-021. I am going to guess some of the frets may be the same. If so look at part 30. Nope this helps.

Thanks Scott, I'll take a peak at the frets when I get home!

Turns out that they are part #137. I had the brilliant (and should have done this first) idea of using the support page on Eduard's site to ask them. Less than 10 hours later, response and part number
Hope it helps someone else if they use this PE set!

A bit more work for the day. More rigging, a couple of small plastic details added and a few pieces of PE added that I had waited on till the mast was in. Forward antenna in place, but I think they're over scale and I may want to replace them. I also ordered some steel wire to replace the antenna ribbons. 5" gun started on the port side.
I think I'm going to replace the CIWS with the Veteran Models resin parts. I've already picked up their Tomahawk box launchers....so may as well?
Anything I'm missing or have done wrong? Thanks all!

Looking very good Brett. One question, given you've gone for all the extra detail of the Pontos set, is there a reason why you've not gone for aftermarket weapons such as the Veteran Models Phalanx?

I'm planning on changing them out....but, for now I'm stuck because of this.
Waiting for that email that tells me they're back in stock
