They work, but only if you right click the link and select "Copy link location" (if using Firefox) (if using Internet Explorer, select "Copy Shortcut") and paste the link into the URL bar manually. Left clicking gets you the error message. Not sure why that is, suddenly...

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Hi All, here is an update on how my JFK is progressing......
Island continues to develope, next day or two should see progression to the Mast.

The main Sponson underneath the island requires a lot of work, Sanding, rescribing, Cutting, filling and re-building.

Onto Stbd side aft, a little cutting, plating over and build new sponsons for Launcher and Radars, leave the crane position in place.

and onto Prepping Hangar Openings ready for Hangar Deck

All questions or suggestions are as always welcome
Happy modeling

No probs Hippy, it is quite easy, are you just opening and building the fwd hangar deck ?Hippy Ed wrote:John, Yer update is great!! Oh, and Red...
Needed are Sheet Styrene and Strip(strip needs to be a good dimension to make the separating wall of the double oval/doorways),
First off decide how big your hangar deck will be, measure and cut the walls, take the wall that will be on the doorway side, put it in position and hold firmly, take a pin vice with a sewing needle inserted and low enough so that there is no play/movement of the needle, now with the outer doorway facing you, scribe around the inner lip of the doorway onto your inner wall, keep scribing until deep enough that the needle will move around with no resistance, remove inner wall and scribe until all way through.
Now you can build the separating wall and glue some stubs around inner hull that will give you a square and solid base to attach the walls, now attach the outer walls, i find it easier putting the fwd and aft walls on after fitting deck.
Tools and supplies needed, Pin Vice and needle or a compass(my choice) files for cleaning up the oval cut. ultra fine permanent marker(wont leak through paint) and all the usual tools.

Side walls in position, openings have been cut out, separating walls in position as well as stubs placed along hull sides, ready for a clean up prior to fitting the deck and fwd and aft walls.

Any Questions or Suggestions welcome

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Work continues, Flightdeck has the arrestor wire positions marked and whole flightdeck has been sanded again, elevators and catapult tracks re-scribed.

Port fwd sponson removed, area plated over, scrap styrene sheet inserted to help fill gap, now ready for filler and sanding

Scratching a new sponson has started, filler and more sanding required,

Hangar deck has had an initial coat of paint.
So far so good, i am happy with progress to date, trying to figure out the mast on the island could be painful.
Any Questions or suggestions welcome
