Great work! Your model is really starting to take shape, I really like the detailing on the bridge and superstructure (I don't know how you get everything so neat - I have to keep reminding myself that this is less than 1/3 the size of the scale I usually scratchbuild in!)

1/350 seems to me like a tricky scale for scratchbuilding, as it's large enough to need a lot of fine detail, but small enough to make individual components quite tiny - but you're doing an amazing job.

Thank you all, I'm preparing a large update with the main armament and the funnel, as you said finally the shape is coming out she is really impressive with the 15 " guns in place

Funnel

Before to start building the funnel I modified the Profile Morskie drawing, in my opinion, and checking the other documentations, this seems not correct in the shape of the fore pipe:



I used the plasticard until it was possible, than I filled the curved pipes with Milliput



Tomorrow, when the Milliput will dry, I will sand the surface until all the structure will be smooth.

Main armament

Here the resin casted towers ready to add the barrels



I glued the barrels with attention to have the same position in all the towers, than it was time to use the Milliput again to make the blast covers

and that foretop is looking menacing already on the dry fit test!

Thanks Laurence, to be honest Funnel was one of the things that scared me more ... but with a bit of pianification it has been amusing to build it.

...as a side note I must start to think something for the catapult on top of X tower ... first idea is to modifie Hood one ... but I'm not sure yet.

Was Barham's catapult on X-turret the same fitted to the R-class?

My guess it was, if so I have an as fitted plan of Resolutions if you would like?

Unfortunately Resolution catapult was of type E III T while Barhm fitted a E I T, by the way small differencies between them, Hood fitted another tipe again F IV H


Just to know wich time frame is represented in your as fitted plan for Resolution? Has it the As and As to reproduce the ship in 1942/43?

4" twin HA mount

This is the master pattern for the twin 4" HA guns, I'll try to cast them in resin:





my policy is to make a mould for all the parts in common with other british warships. Fortunately some components are the same in most capital ships, ae the 15" MK I mounts can be used in the "R" class, and with small modifications could be fit on to the Warspite and Repulse, the director hood is the same of "R" class ecc.

This way I will go on with my wish list of ships

HMS Warspite
HMS Resolution
HMS Repulse
HMS ... ok ok ... I stop here, I'm already busy for the next five years

Nice work on the 4" turrets. I started out using exactly the same technique. Nasty little buggers and difficult to do. Nice to rapid progress on a full scratchbuild! Didn't know it was possible You might want to try vacuum forming as well (for e.g. the boats and launches). A very easy and down to earth technique to use.

I'm interested to seeing how the casting of the 4" turrets works out!
