Great to hear everything's ok Andrey!

Here are a few pics of Kerch, the only remaining Kara in service. She carries the Podberezovik long range (500km) 3D air search radar for testing. This radar is also supposed to be mounted on the Gorshkov (Vikramaditiya) during her modernization.
Otherwise I think she's pretty similar to the other Kara's. She received some upgraded equipment back in '80's and a fully refurbished accomodation sponsored by a city (which was not Kerch and hence a renaming was proposed) in 2005 or 2004. She is based in Sevastopol and hence serves in the Black Sea Fleet.

lOVE THE PICTURES OF kERCH I have tryed to find my way around the airbase site but get nowere would help if I read russian

there are plenty of good sites, but it indeed helps if you can read a few words Russian or just even know how to change their alphabet to ours.
http://www.navsource.narod.ru is one hell of a good site! But again it's mainly in Russian.

There was such a Black Sea Fleet exercise a while ago too, then a Krivak II and Smetliviy were involved. There were some of these high res pics too back then, I think I saved one, but I'm not sure.

These high res pics are bad for Russian Navy, look at the pic where the seahawk lands on Moskva, how many dents can you get in one ship.... It's not the first time that I notice something like this. That happens when you don't have tugs to moor your ships!

Give it time, after all how long did we have to wait till another company other than Tamiya started to make 1/350 ship kits.

Has ANYONE tried to build either a Kresta or Kara model?

I have plans for Kresta 1 and Kresta 2 ($90 each), Kara ($100) Australian dollars plus shipping.
These plans are hand drawn and meant for someone to scratch build a model for remote control. Basic plan Scale is 1/100 and other scales included for details in the protfolio.
