Well I finished it. My first resin ship, my first USN ship and my first attempt at modeling land and trees. My Wife's grandfather served on the ship and I depicted it landing troops at Guadalcanal. I'm be shipping it to him as a suprise gift, I hope he likes it. Note the Wildcat planes and the destroyed Japanese beach gun. I'll try and get a few more photos for the gallery ready.
