This is, hands down, the worst model kit I've ever had the misfortune to come across my workbench: GAGA Models 1/350 MN Charles deGaulle. Fought me tooth and nail for three years - fit problems, paint problems, motivation problems (due to the first 2 problems). Mostly OOB, with a scratchbuilt mast - the kit supplies some sort of flat blade to represent the mast :doh_1: - and PE safety netting from Eduard, originally designed for the Trumpeter Constellation kit.

Finally, after 3 years of misery, the model is done. Still needs an air group. That battle comes next, with a mix of kit supplied POS and a few L'Arsenal aircraft.

The only reason I persevered with this model is because it was a commission. It took in on 3 years ago when I was between jobs, thinking it would be a "quick & simple build". How wrong I was!!

Having witnessed Martin's trials and tribulations over time, I can say that he's worked wonders with this "kit".

Not worth the grief, though. Recommended for masochists only.

Saw this at MosquitoCon over the weekend. Martin did a great job hammering that turd into a ship-shaped final product. It looks great in person. I was only able to pick out the flaws by knowing beforehand where to look. Overall it turned out brilliant.
