I have a new fiberglass hull for a USN Tacoma Frigate. I was told it is also a River Class. My club has no British ships in it so this could be the first. I am looking for great 1/96 scale plans of a River class frigate. Can someone point me in the right direction to buy some if there are any?

The hull was received in a trade.

The company making it wants to stay nameless for now until they are ready to sell them. I received plans for a USN ship but as I said above a British ship would be much more fun to build.

I can post a pic of the hull if anyone wants to see it.

David Brown told me he has seen an early draft of it, probably to proof read it, and he was very impressed, got mine pre-ordered at that price I can see it rocket up as soon as it goes out-of-print.

sounds like a good book,doing a model of a modified australian river class,pretty much the hull was the same as the river class frigates,wonder were out there are plans for the Tacoma class what the us navy had?hulls look the same,anyway cheers matt

Hello when I was searching for the Christina ,Onasi's old yatch,
I discovered that it was a very modified

River class.
So in my trips through the internet I found the following site with some photos of a model

Here is the new Hull. It is sitting on the tailgate of my truck.

Well that is going to be my River class in 1/96 Hull looks good I just need to get some plans now.

If you guys like the WW2 RN frigates, you may enjoy their siblings, RN sloops. I am scratchbuilding a Bittern-class sloop and, like the frigates and corvettes, there is a wide range of types and classes from which to choose. A great book on these is available, and highly recommended by yours truly:

Yes I have that one, it is indeed the best volume on the sloops available at the moment. Anyone interested should buy it ASAP as the World Ship Society publications go out of print fast and then become very difficult and expensive to obtain.

There are a large number of sloop images on my website here http://p214.ezboard.com/ftheflowerclass ... orumsfrm20 Mainly Black Swans, but some others on there too. Go to the other pages to see the sloops as the first two pages are mostly River Class.
