And sadly the box art is a fanciful. Lion did not have a stern walk. I've also never seen a photo of a funnel band on Lion. Let's hope the kit is better.pascalemod wrote:HMS Lion 1/700 if I understood correctly.

Looks good. I wonder how this will compare to the HP Models kit.maxim wrote:New by Niko Model in 1/700:

TLAR Models 1/350 Not SS Minnow waterline kit #724
She's 8 scale inches too long overall and the window frames on the cabin are vertical. A mere SS Minnow imposter.
Planned release in August 2024.
1/700 FV Bakur, porbeagle shark long-liner. Waterline Kit #624
Optional parts to create the 1961 Norwegian early version or the 2006 fit, while in possession of the Canadian Mounted Police for carrying a cargo of illicit materials. She had a load of marijuana.
Have a look if you care to! tlarmodels.com

Triumph model on FB announces end of August release of HMS Lion in 1/700 in full hull. Both 1914 and 1916 options. I for one, would love me a battlecruiser of the era, and a big one. Finally a full hull model on the way!

Triumph will be releasing a 1/700 resin IJN planned Project 65 Super Type A cruiser. Personally, I don't think the Japanese would ever name it "Zao" , but that's just me.

Re: *Resin* A list of Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
Apparently a copy of the Chuanyu - 3D Wild kit at 1/350, issued from World of Warships.
Never existed and would probably never have existed. So you can name it the way you want ! Some complaints about the design were the americanized way the catapults and crane are foreseen.
Strange to see that nowadays, kit manufacturers seem more interested by producing kits from video games than kits of what I would call "orphan ships", ships with very limited perspectives of sales. It means many people would buy them, maybe to materialize the game.
Anyway, with the Chinese 3D manufacturers we find now on ebay, there are plenty of these orphan ships one can get at both scales, including the French WWII cruisers or dreadnoughts of the Courbet and Bretagne classes, HMS Renown and Ark Royal, Italian battleships Andrea Doria and Cesare, or Italian cruisers, or Baku, or Forrestal that nobody has issued at 1/350 in plastic, and recently USS Baltimore.
Fine ! (except for the bank account

Agreed about it resembling the Chuanya/3D WILD 1/350 kit. And, it certainly doesn't look like the original project 65 design.

Philippe,
Apparently the 3D printed kit manufacturers have found a way to access the 3D models on World of Warships. Once the 3D model is obtained I see no reason why it cannot be translated/enhanced to facilitate a 3D print. I do like some of the unique ships they are producing, having purchased two.

This one is definitely from World of Warships. It is named "Zao" in that game. The game also has a version of the 12" gun "cruiser" that the Alaskas were supposed to be a response to.

Me too, I like those kits, the quality of which is stunning. I have purchased some of them, and plan to buy more. Now, building them is less exciting than the standard kits, but the results are very good.William Smallshaw wrote:Philippe,

Any idea how to actually buy their stuff? Quite some interesting 1/350 modern SSKs. No website, and the usual Polish shops don't seem to stock their kits, only their paints.maxim wrote:Available by Bilmodel Makers in (full hull models)

I do not know - I had bought only some submarines from this producer at a show.
