1:600 SS Rotterdam
Have started work on a 1:600 SS Rotterdam. I saw her from a distance when I was in Rotterdam last year. She's a good looking liner and will make an interesting addition to my liner fleet.

What was your source for this kit? I wish to build one for my lovely wife, who sailed on her.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Patricks' models are scratchbuilds, no kit parts used. The only ' kit's' available of Rotterdam are 1/1250 metal castings.

That is most impressive.Pieter wrote:Patricks's models are scratchbuilds, no kit parts used. The only ' kit's' available of Rotterdam are 1/1250 metal castings.
I have found that YESTR Toys will make a Rotterdam V, among their liner models.

A much more classic ship than the new "Cruise Ships". Yesterday in Whittier Alaska saw the "Royal Princess" which would appear to have 1000 repetitive balconies to replicate. I've always wondered about the stability of these ships with so much top hamper. Very nice effort!

Yes, I print my own. In all there are well over 200 decals on the model. I've added quite a few more since that photo was taken.

Re: 1:600 SS Rotterdam
Thanks guys.
Special thanks to Iceman who 3-d printed out the lifeboats for me. Saved me a whole lot of scratchbuilding.
