That would be well impressive in 1:350. Never mind 1:600.

She looks fantastic. Please post more photos as you progress her!

Yes you're right, I've been tempted by Peter Hall version in 1/350, and not only the type 21, but actually I must build small scale, because the space for the models here is getting smaller :(

Time for some airbrush work.

I joined the superstructure to the hull, and filled all the gaps... ( I hope )
Then I added the mounts beside the hangar and the flight deck water drain grille.

The boat davits are scratch builts.

After the first hands of paint I'm quite happy, she needs some cleaning here and there, but nothing too complex.

Next steps the black waterline and what remains of the ship number F173, as you can see in the last infamous picture, the numbers where not completely deleted.

Starting the datails after a first layer of "South Atlantic weatering"

From bow to stern will be a long fun trip.

Welcome back Dino! Your Barham was a great inspiration and source of information when I was building mine.
I always had a soft spot for the Type 21. Long time ago I built an Airfix kit which turned out less than satisfactory.
Yours is stunning with a host of beautifully executed scratchbuilt detailwork.
I will follow this thread with great interest!

Thank you! Indeed the Airfix kit is outdated, and the Dragon one is not better, both need a lot of fixes, but that's fun!
