Re: What if 1/320 F.Sherman terrier system
Extended the bow about 3.5mm, made the bow more pointed at the top, changed the angle above the waterline, to look more like a DLG.
The drawings of Coontz DLG 9/DDG 40 Iam using is in 1/355 scale, the gun turret in the drawing is 1/341 scale, (off just like models are), the model Build is long enought to be a Coontz class in 1/348.807 scale just the hull shape off a little bit, and the stern area beam width is too narrow by 1.5mm on each side (port/sbd), just aft of where the terrier lchr including the helio landing area , and the gun turret would be in 1/318.95 scale.

Re: What if 1/320 F.Sherman terrier system
Finally scratch built a terrier missile launcher and added it to the build, built set of macks, for possible use, also posted rough sketches, with the build in front of them, still working on what the superstructure/system placement might look like.
still around 50 ft short even with a hull and bow expansion this is base on FY 62 USN ship studies requirements. the minimum space of terrier missile system with 40-60 missiles and DLG-16 type control space, Thought of using macks in place of stacks and masts, this frees up about 19 ft, and moving the bridge/superstructure forward 44 ft would free of enough space to make all this fit on an expanded DD 931 hull.
Items left off the FY 62 USN ship design requirement: not using the 8000 N.MI range @ 20kts this adds around 1550-1800 tons. staying around 800-900 tons fuel. Using SQS--23 hull sonar, instead of SQS-26 bow sonar. Leaving off the DASH system (Drone ASW helicopter).
when build is completed represents as updated around FY72 adds second SQS-23 sonar dome becoming SQQ-23 sonar system, replace SPS-39 radar with SPS-48 and add ULQ-6 ECM Syst. clear stern deck area for helicopter pad by relocating fanfare syst. and deck vents and bollards.

Re: What if 1/320 F.Sherman terrier system
Finally restarted the build: added the L1 deck structure and above, This build is in between a DLG-6/-9 class and a DDG-2 class in size. Still a tight fit to get the Terrier system and and have the weapons systems of DDG-2 class, with Terrier in place of Tartar. The build is a DD-931 hull, the roots of this is still visible, I used the DEG plan of FY57-62/and the following ship classes DDG-2/DL-6/DLG-9/DD-931/DLG-16 for reference. after starting the bridge area decided to reduced window size by adding more framing for the windows
*note L3 deck and fwd bridge and macks are not glued down yet need to paint inside the bridge area and add clear plastic for windows before gluing.

current status : built all superstructures, and the SPG-55 missile radars., where I got the ideal for the two forward 5"/54 guns and Terrier aft from USN missile manual.

Ahh, THAT kind of Sherman. For a minute I envisioned you mounting a Terrier system on a WW2 tank.
An interesting concept!
