Nimitz CAW-8 WIP
So I've finished Nimitz in her 1975 setup, and now I'm working on the planes of CAW-8. I've finished 3 of the F4s of VF-31 and one of the E3s of VAW-116. All of these planes wear Starfighter Decals' awesome set 700-28. Here are pics of the work to date:
E3 of VAW-116 Sun Kings - note the warning stripes on the prop blades:

F4s of VF31 Tomcatters:

Comments and observations always welcome.

Looking to trade 1/700 Aircraft
Anyone have some 1/700 Skyraiders to trade? I bought the Fujimi set, but all I need out of them is the A-1s. I have a bunch of F4s, some C2s, and F8s as well. Anyone that has any, please PM me. Thanks. Also, I will post pics by the start of the week from my Nimitz build - another squadron has hit the deck.

CAW-8 Progress
Here are some shots of my growing air wing. My work schedule is insane lately, so these jets are getting done at a snail's pace. I have completed 3 squads so far, so here they are:
Two A7s of VA-82 Marauders taxi to launch behind an E3 of VAW-116 Sun Kings:

Stern view of the flight deck with F4s of VF-31 Tomcatters parked at the end of the deck:

Another view of the remaining 4 A7s of VA-82 waiting to move out after the two headed to the cat:

All of the jets are Trumpeter's and the decals are from the awesome CAW-8 (1975) set from Starfighter Decals. As always, remarks and comments are welcome.

Hiya JG,
Sorry but i do not have any news of the aircraft sets, i agree more aircraft are needed, i am so looking forward to the USS Boxer LPH-4 and adding more Helo's, i have the BHR and Antietam and both are great models, i am gonna take one of my Essex class and refit her with a Hurricane bow and Angled deck, i have not decided which yet. On another note, i recieved my Starfighter CVW-9 decals yesterday, they cover USS Enterprise as in 1968, so i will now have to build a CVAN as well as my intended build of Enterprise as she was during 1988 and Operation Praying Mantis.
Anyways enough from me,
Looking forward to seeing more of your builds
Happy modeling
John
