My 'on this day' post yesterday.
I'm sorry if I caused any offense yesterday. I was in a bad mood regarding the current "long war". Without starting another debate, there are many of us here in the USA who do not understand the difference (perhaps nuance is a better word) Europeans see in this war, and as a result they are calling for the elimination of NATO, an act which I would deplore and would find very bad for the long-term interests of all involved.
If an unfriendly power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.
