I realize it's getting nice out, but where are the carriers? I have a couple of non-ship projects on the table, but I intend to finish my Enterprise soon and am looking at either the Antietam or America for my next build. Come on gents - I need inspiration! :woo_hoo:

I can post my Oriskany for ya, I'm finally making progress! :woo_hoo: I started on the other side of the hull and intend to have the hull widened, with the new bow built this month. Then I can finally get to building the hull sponsons and detailing the hangar bay. :woo_hoo:

Hi Everyone.
I'm pleased to see that everyone's alright.

I haven't been posting for a while on the forum. My written exams are due to finish on friday, next week the practical exams will require far less time so I'm gonna start the 1/350 deck vehicle masters. I already have drawings in 1/70 scale that will be helpful.
I had very nice comments regarding the 1/700 mules, but I intend to raise the quality level with the 1/350.
Between exams and to keep cool I'm working on a model, it's well armored, it's got big guns, but it does not float : a M1A1 Abrams.

Keep cool and keep in touch.

Hi all,
Here is my progress so far on converting an Axial Essex to a Angled deck, hopefully it will represent USS Hornet as she was in 1957 using Starfighter decals, finding the aircraft could be the hardest part.

Hiya JG,
Glad you enjoyed the article, also as an aid you have your larger scaled Essex class, i have been searching Ebay for one, the pics you posted of your build have been of great help.

Here is the first of my Carrier Battle Group support ships, i researched USS Platte as at Desert Storm, i bought the JAG USS Cimarron, did a bit more research and realised she was not Jumboised at that time. So decisions, do i decide on researching her at a later date or choose another of the class ? Hmmmn or cut up a $100 plus kit, that is one of the best molded kits i have held in my hands.

Well i decided on the latter course of action, here the two pics show the kit after i cut out a 4.5cm section, then i drilled and pinned the two halves together, to my surprise both halves matched.
