Very good Ranger, and Well Done on the award jgrease :thumbs_up_1:

As promised an update on Victorious, Island First

Here is my yard, with F40 under refit and PF-09 almost finished.
Image

And here is my almost completed Island-just the Mast to go which can be seen in the pictures off to the right.

And I must own up to the fact that this is the first time I have ever fiddled about with photoetch on any of my ships-and i'm quite pleased with the results, but I found my patience lacking sometimes!

Hull picture to follow.

Happy modeling

Great work ASFC! Photoetch is definitely one of those "love/hate" things in modeling. It's a pain to work with, but once you get it going well, the results speak for themselves. Keep up the good work!

Cheers-I still feel like a novice even after 3 years building warships!

So, Sitrep on the Hull. Flightdeck walkways need finishing, Life presevers need adding, Photoetch needs finishing and Guns adding. Paintwork just needs touching up. Lack of Decals is going to slow this build down but she is getting there-and there is always the Illustrious to finish! :heh:

Hi ASFC,
Your Carrier is looking great, the PE is making a difference, your leanders look good, i found the Ikara Leander to be the most difficult of the builds, i never did get to serve on one, i had Blake, Bulwark(old one) Tribals, Type 12, counties lots of 42's but never a Leander.

i look forward to your next update

Happy modeling

Thank You-my Leanders are from my pre-photetch days and i have decided to leave them without, and hopefully myearly efforts and some of the RNs best Frigates will debut in the gallery in the not so distant future.

However my CVN-76 will go through refit for Radomes and Photoetch, and will follow the British pair out of the yard.

Hiya ASFC,
PE is a personnal thing, you will see many in the gallery with none or little, i use it sparingly on my 1/720 carriers, i will expand when i get to my stash of Trumpy Nimitz's(seven waiting will be eight when it is clear which to get for a modded CVN-70)
I just spent last few hours putting the home made tail markings on VA-145 and VA-155, will post pics later today.

Happy modeling :thumbs_up_1:

I think I have been misunderstoood-i'm not putting PE on all my ships  (i mean I have over 100), but seeing as some need a few mods, it makes sense to use the opportunity to get some practice in for my new found skill.

These homemade decals on your AIrwing, how did you make them?

Thanks for the comments, work continues on the airwing, the positioning plan is coming together, all the aircraft on the aft end of the flightdeck are awaiting wings to be chopped and re-positioned, would have been nice to have had the wings separated at the fold position, thus enabling an easier build option for the parked aircraft.
