Thanks guys, a person on another website told me to build the Forrestal after I'm done with Ranger. After Midway and now Ranger no more gun carriers for me.

Hey gtb,
Go for it
CV-59, 60, 62, 63, 64 and CV-67, CV-66 and CVN-65 are in very early stages of build

Happy modeling

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Hiya Ed,
I gotta get the Italeri kits done and hopefully move onto the easier less demanding Trumpy Nimitz's, i will have one major semi scratch after these, i intend making Baku from an Aoshima/Italeri Kiev/Kutznetsov.
As for the stash, i still feel like weeping at the thought of what i dumped prior to coming over here, but i am recovering and know that 99% of what my stash was would never have been built, Choice was my collection of WW2 RN(including every BB except three R Class and all the RN Carriers by HP) or my Post war collection, Post war won.

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Your stash makes mine seem VERY small by comparison, but here it is. I only have 3 carriers in it atm(USS SCS 1/720, USS Hornet 1/700 and 1/350), I have most of the pe for them as well.
I guess it isnt too bad for someone who is working and going to school full time. Someday I will get to making these.

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Right i'll open this to the floor...
As you know, i'm working on HMS Victorious (among other RN ships), and I have got to the point of fixing the flight deck. I have been working to this picture:

to get the markings right.
However......I have noticed patricks rather nice Victorious in the Gallery archive with 'Ark Royal IV' style Red and White stripe markings, and have also seen variations on just a solid white band (what the airfix instructions recommend) and a solid red ad white striped job. So, is the markings on Viccies deck as shown in the photo correct, or is that a transistion to the more common red and white stripe markings that other RN carriers of the time carried.
Thanks in advance

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Cheers I had a look at the links you provided (I had never thought to look at the Victorious Association webpage
). I'm modeling her early to mid 60's, without any Buccaneers, so it looks like it will be white markings after all.
Some progress pictures in a day or two.

Funny thing-I used Google, but it didn't bring up the victorious association once! Maybe i need to broaden my use of search engines!
