Calling all O.R.V. and O.S.R.V. fans
Hi- I guess I found a new home! I absolutely love these types. I can be sure that the pictures on here will plant another seed. Years ago I chopped up a LINDBERG minesweeper,(about the time REVELL released the CALYPSO) and converted it to a ORV. I am now in the process of doing it again.Unlike the first one though, this one has the minisub on deck as well as the containers for the scientist types. The hull was lengthened and the bow profile completely changed . The little ship now has,at this time, the transverse propulsion system in the forward hull and the azipodal drive system aft.Everything on this ship ,except the base hull is 100% scratch built. It isn,t easy, but, I think these and OSRV types are the new way to model. No two are identical or used the same way. This leaves a lot of room for the braver modelers to go all out on a vessel, without worrying about critics. That,s the one thing that made me drift away from the warship navies and go into tankers, tugs osrv,s and orv types. I have done two O.S.R.V. types for CLEAN BAY/CLEAN SEAS of CALIFORNIA and this definitely is more rewarding. catchya later commodore4
