Hi guys,

here are a few pictures of the now finished RSS Supreme. The diorama, however, is not yet finished. The Supreme participated in the RIMPAC 2010 exercise and also had a few helo landing training sessions. So the idea was to depict a helo as it is approaching from aft. I haven't worked on the helo yet as I was eager to finish the ship itself first.

Here are a few updated pictures with the now finished diorama. I managed to install a miniature RC-engine into the helo that enables it to fly on its own. Really.

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it!

Here's another ship I managed to finish last week. It's the ORP General T. Kosciuszko, an OHP frigate now in service with the Polish Navy. This ship is going to be a present for my best friend who is from Poland and also an avid military enthusiast.

I built it out of an old Revell kit, detailed with GMM's photoetch. After scratchbuilding my last few ships, it was actually a bit strange at first to have all the pieces already at hand and not needing to build anything myself. Amazing how quickly a ship can come together that way

I still want to build an OHP for myself and already have a Dragon kit, but building this model was surely good practice. I tried not to detail too much, but it turns out that it's rather difficult to do when you're used to always trying to build a ship as realistically as possible.

Looks Great, i am sure your friend will be very happy and put it on display for all to see. Yes i have yet to find a model that i can build straight out of the box. but the research and adding the extra is what i find makes the build much more fun.

your scratchbuilt models are better looking than most commercial models. I have shown photos of the models on your site to mr. Norbert Thiel of NNT models in my recent visit to his store and he was excited especially about Braunsweig. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Carl. I wish i had more time to build models and detail them more like Heiko and you. Unfortunately i have to work more than 10-12 hours a day so that leaves only few hours during the weekend.

Thanks Nektarios! Not sure if they really are that good and just like Carl once said, I sometimes think the photos look better than the real thing.

How often are you in Germany? If you ever happen to travel further up north, let me know and we could meet up.

Looking forward to that. An Alfa would be great, as they are fairly rare in 1/700 it seems

Hi guys,

again, it's been quiet around here. Could it be that no one is building something modern at the moment?

With not a lot of time on my hands, I've slowly been able to piece my current project together. With some minor details missing, the ship will soon be heading for the paintshop.

It's the SAS Isandlwana, a Valour Class frigateo of the South African Navy. I haven't seen a model of this class of ships yet, probably because only four of them exist and not many people are interested in ships of a fairly small navy. Still, they are quite attractive ships in my opinion. Here are a few pictures.
