Step 1 (design) is done. Step 2 has begun!

So, the gluing has begun. It's only a question of gluing all of the may pieces together and waiting for mail to start getting delivered to Japan again. Then I will have my airbursh. Hopefully I will have all of the pieces glued together by the time it's time to paint.

Evening all,

Right, had HMCS Ottawa I (former HMS Crusader from the 1929 Programme) hull started with the usual fill-in and sanding plus some railings and some minor corrections on the junction between the two decks and on the bow. Using the hull of a Tamiya E-class destroyer which has the same dimensions.

Destroyer news!

DDV8 makes progress. I have my resin RAM launchers in position. As you can see I have removed some of the ladders and similar detail so it canbe replaced by the PE.

These Trumpeter kits are really temperamental. You have to put these beveled corners together just right, and you had better not screw up! It's rather unforgiving!

I do like the result of the Trumpeter kit.

I'll play!...not sure what it'll be yet, I've got 3 choices; Tamiya round bridge Fletcher 1/700, Trumpy square bridge Fletcher or one of the Dragon Gleaves class DD, WW II fit.

Since I have going to have parts left over from my USS Bedford DDG-998 What-if build under the cold war group build..
I am going with DML 1/350 USS Spruance VLS circa 1995...
Thanks

I will need to change my build (if that's ok).

I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to obtain plans for the Dutch N-Class destroyers at a reasonable price.

So, I'm going to change my build to the Hr. Ms. Evertsen, commissioned in 1928.

If I will have time after the Transport group build, I will construct the Wiener Modellbau Ersatz Triglav class in 1/350.

Navydave, what PE are you going to be using. I'm trying to select the best PE available for my future Arleigh Burke. I'm heavily considering the YMW one as opposed to originally liking the WEM one.

The only experience with the Arleigh Burke PE has been in my JPJ (another thread). I was skeptical about the WEM one, too, but that's the one I went with, and I like it so much I have placed another order for the same brass for this entry, the DDV 8. I would suggest the WEM PE for your future Burke!

Oh...um...the observant prevail... 4/15-10/11 :pout:

Guess who's a sillypants? Well, he has two thumbs, and he's this guy. DDV 8 has come to a halt until 4/11. I'm dumb, and I apologize. :sorry:

quick, go back and edit the post. Delete all evidence. Fix with phrases like "Move along" and "Look Sir, Droids" :heh:

Come now Dave, we all know you're build about 10 Burkes. Those shots you posted were of a different build and only serve as illustrative examples of how your DDV will look, right? RIGHT!!!!

BTW, can someone edit the titles of all of the Group Build threads to reflect the true start dates. They all save 4/11 when they should be 4/15.

The 11 refers to the year.

Admittedly, for clarity's sake, I'll change the titles for all three group builds.
