Calling all Galley (~15-17th Century) fans!

I am looking for a set of plans of the Galera Real de don Juan de Austria. It is very similar in design to the Venetian galleys and the Reale de France. There is a full size replica in the maritime museum in Barcelona Spain, but they say they are not able to help.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I've reappropriated GaryM's post as the starting post for a thread on galleys of the early modern period.

With that said - does any one know of a list of changes that would be required to alter the Revell 1/450 La R�ale French galley of 1694 into an Ottoman galley of the late 1500s? I know there were quite a bit of difference, but the details in the kit are clunky enough that I would've heavily modified or scratchbuilt them anyway.

Venetian and French galleys differed in the Oar arrangement. 17 century French were "A Scallocia " 3 men,one bench to one big heavy oar, Medieval Venetian galleys were supposed to be "Alla Zenzile" (3 men, one bench but three separate oars). The Heller Reale De France kit is A Scallocia, correct for that type and time period. For other nationalities that is were to look for major differences.
